Simple ways you could attract a whole new market

Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009

It’s a fact that people respond to products and services with added features and extra benefits. Many success marketers have used this principle alone to create a whole new industry or product line.

If you can find solution to add something to your product or service, you could attract a whole new market. A very simple additional service, benefit, or feature could give you the niche your competitors could find hard to beat. By adding something new and useful, you could also strengthen the loyalty of your established customers.

You may learn now how to create a niche using the principle of addition. This is not a final list, use your imagination to build your success.

1. Take the time to ask yourself a simple question like that: If they liked my product (service), would they like MORE of it?”

2. Try to know what do your customers want more and how much are they willing to pay for it. People are always pleased with more of what benefits them.

3. Make a list with products and services that have been successful for at least 10 years and find what addition has being used. New products are being added to their lines, new features, new ingredients, new benefits, even new locations are being added. Your eyes will be opened.

4. Start your work thinking what you can add to your business, service, or product to make it better. Any customer wont get tired or bored with a business, product or, service that appear to always be growing in benefits.

5. And reminder when applying the principle of addition, to start testing your new ideas with your customers. You will find this way if your idea is good or bad, just ask and customers feedback.

Ideal Marketing Methods for Home-Based Businesses

Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009

What is the difference between a small business that makes it and one that does not? Most likely, the one that was successful engaged in some effective marketing. Wise marketing is critical for owners of home-based businesses for a number of reasons:
1. Marketing keeps you ahead of the competition
2. Marketing brings you a steady stream of revenue
3. Marketing provides leads for future sales
4. Marketing helps increase awareness about your business

Marketing is not something you just jump into, however. It requires careful examination and evaluation. Not every method, after all, will lead to the benefits mentioned above.

Affiliate Programs

Almost all home-based businesses can work with an affiliate program. With this type of program, you recruit other people to sell your products/services and reward them with a percentage of the revenue (usually 3 to 10%).

The mechanics of these programs works like a restaurant franchise. Because your recruits are now associated with your company’s name, you want to be sure that they are maintaining your standards of quality and professionalism, so many affiliateprograms include ready-made web sites, sales materials,
and more.

These recruits then attempt to make sales on your behalf.

The benefit is that all of their marketing efforts (beyond what you provide) are not part of your business’s expenses, and they have the potential to reach new segments of potential clients and customers.

Giveaways

This type of marketing is one of the most popular with all businesses and can be handled in at least two ways: free giftswith a purchase and/or contests.

You have probably come across ads or web sites that sell e-books or other products and offer a number of free gifts with the purchase of the product. The lure of freebies helpspeople make the decision to purchase. You can do the same thing with your product or service. Keep in mind thatwhatever you offer as a free gift should be inexpensive toproduce so that you don’t lose money on the deal.

Contests can also be quite effective if done creatively.
For example, if your business was selling e-books, you could hold a contest with the grand prize being a free copyof one of your top-selling e-books.

But what about second place? Many people don’t realizethat there’s no rule or law against giving a prize to everyperson who enters your contest so why not reward all ofthe other people who entered with a significant discount onthe price of that same e-book? Many of those second placewinners will take the discount and make a purchase.

Search Engine Optimization

If you do any business online, an important part of yourmarketing efforts should be search engine optimization orSEO. SEO essentially means that you tweak your site sothat it appears near the top of search engine results forcertain keywords.

Generally this involves repeating those keywordsfrequently and placing keywords in headlines, meta tags,
and introductory paragraphs. While it may sound easy, most businesses turn their SEO efforts over to professionals. If bringing an expert in fits your marketing budget, youmay want to enlist their assistance.

Referral Reward Programs

Another type of program aimed at bringing people to yoursite is a type of referral reward program. During the Internet boom, many sites had these type of programswhich paid a few cents for each person who visited a sitefrom a link listed at your site or through some other means.

Now, however, they simply are not as popular, but they can still be beneficial. Instead of offering a cash reward, allow your customers to earn your products/services by referring new business to you.

Whether you elect to use one of these marketing methods or choose one of your own, the key is to test its effectiveness. Try it out for awhile and see if the results are satisfactory. If not, return to the drawing board. If so, then implement it on a larger scale. With careful planning and testing, your business will experience the benefits of marketing firsthand.

Starting a legitimate work at home business

Sunday, January 25th, 2009

Legitimate work from home is today one of the most profitable opportunities that you can join in, but it is up to every individual to do their own preparation. If you are taking into consideration starting a home based business, then some of the steps you must do are the same as with any new business.

1. Look for a sizable market

Anything that can be sold online probably has a significant audience base, but you can learn how to match your approach to the needs of the market you are aiming at in order to ramp up the sales level.  If you are expecting to make a good income from your legitimate work from home plan, you should make certain that the product you choose or the niche market is large enough to earn the money you require. Because the market for a home based business is globally sized, you never need worry about having a product that is too specialized to sell in your own community.

2. Be patient, don’t expect instant wealth

Even with legitimate work from home plans, you should not expect to receive instant wealth from your home based business. Sensible growth according to a business plan that has been carefully researched is more likely to result in a business that is able to withstand the expected fluctuations in income and expenses. Be patient and build a good base for your business if you want to be around in the long run to enjoy the results of your labor and planning.

3. Do your research

Research into as many of the factors that will be associated with your prospective home based business as possible will help to ensure the longevity of your legitimate work from home business. You should know and understand your business and how your plans will match up to the audience available in the world marketplace. You should also research such factors as required licenses and certificates needed in your business location. Plan for the equipment and supplies that will be required at the beginning of your business startup and which items can be put off until your business balance sheet looks stronger.

4. Write a comprehensive business plan

Regardless of the type of legitimate work from home business that interests you, be sure to prepare and use a business plan for your entrepreneurial adventure. You may not see the importance of planning your business route, but this action is credited as one of the most important in ensuring the success of your business by those who know. Writing a business plan involves understanding and identifying the key factors of your business and how those can be used for successful long term profits. A good business plan helps you stay on track.

5 Steps to Start a Successful Home Based Business

Monday, January 19th, 2009

With the economy presently holding a title of “recession” for the most part of world, people are now far more interested in finding out how to make money online or working from home. If you are ready to go, then there are some ideas to help.

1. Find a niche for your business

About finding a niche you just found in previous post.

2. Find a program that works

You need to find a program in your niche that you think is doing well and causing a huge buzz on the internet. Don’t be afraid of the competition. More than half of the people promoting these programs are inexperienced and have no idea what they are doing. Most of them will give up before they ever make a dime. I will show to how you can differentiate yourself from the average newbie and actually find success online a little later in the article. For now, your task is to find a program to promote. Find something that you feel comfortable with and then do your research. Talk to people who are actively promoting the program… call them up, don’t just email them.

3. A good plan of action

Now it is time to put an action plan together. Write everything down in order of priority. You must dedicate time everyday to getting your business up and running. Stay focused and try to not get overwhelmed. This is where many people give up. Don’t be a quitter! Keep pushing forward everyday. TIP: I find when I write my ‘to do’ list the night before (for the next day), it is more effective.

4. A detailed marketing plan

Next step is a detailed marketing strategy. Again, take a pencil and write it all down, in detail.
If you don’t have a lot of money for your marketing budget, that’s ok, there are plenty of effective ways to market your website and business with a zero marketing budget. I will mention a few here but… do your research and learn how to effectively market your site through each one of these.
Article marketing - very effective when done right. Take the time to learn the do’s and don’ts.
Video Marketing - Also very effective when done right. When people see your face and hear your voice, they will buy in just because they like you.
Blogging - Works well when you tie it into the above methods.
Social media sites - StumbleUpon, Digg, etc…
Related forum discussion boards - Again, if done right, people will buy into you.
It comes down to just that… people will often join your program simply because they feel comfortable with you and like what you have to say.

5. Take action, stay focused and never give up

Now the final step and the most important is to get started You must get started if you want to see results. Often times, people come up with great ideas, great plans and then just never get started or completed. If you get started, you should be ahead of most people. Remember to stay focused and not get overwhelmed. Take on one task at a time and don’t stop until it is complete. Then move on to the next, and the next, and the next until you are done.

How to find a niche for your business

Wednesday, January 14th, 2009

Finding a niche is the most important factor in determining your success online. I can not stress this enough. This article will guide you through a short overview of the process that you should take in looking for your niche.

First, let’s see what a niche is. A niche is simply put, the topic that you want your website to be about. For example, if I had website that was about pet’s food, my niche would be pet’s food. This is just simply put, but there is actually a lot of things you need to consider before choosing a niche. For the purpose of this article, I will use the example of pet’s food for my targeted niche.

1.) You have an idea to make a website about pet’s food.
While this is a good niche to get into, because it’s very popular and the searches for pet’s food is huge, it’s going to be a VERY tough niche to break into. There are so many websites targeting that niche, that to be able to get Google or any other search engine to notice you, it’s is going to be hard. So the next step is to do some research on the niche.

2.) After you’ve done your research on the topic (search google for how many websites there are that target that phrase) now you want to narrow down your subject. Brainstorm other phrases that mean ” pet’s food” and see if you can come up with a “sub category.” For example, how about a niche that targets “dog’s food” or even “healthy food for puppies”. I know this is a long keyword phrase (it’s called a longtail keyword), but the chances for the search engines to notice your site are much higher because I can guarantee that aren’t so many top websites in the pet’s niche targeting that keyword.

3.) Once you’ve found a less competitive niche, build your site around healthy food for puppies.

Niches are everywhere. They can be about anything you want. Search the internet and you’ll be amazed at how many niches you can find that will actually be profitable for you. Do your research on how often the topic gets searched, and then customize your website to fit your longtail keyword.

Setting Goals for Home Based Business

Tuesday, December 9th, 2008

by Maxine Telford-Wolfe

To find success in a home based business, there are a number of important ingredients. Having a desire, a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, to be taught and the belief in your own ability.
One of the most important pieces of the puzzle however is really easy and can be a whole lot of fun if you let it. Setting goals.

Asking yourself what is the most important thing you want to achieve by having a home based business, then creating a blueprint for success and following through on your short-term and long-term goals; making sure to complete certain projects by a specified date.

By setting your goals in stone from the very beginning and following the steps you put in place, you will have that extra push and motivation to work even when you don’t want to. The best way to start with your goals is to look at the short term. That means looking at the next 6-12 months and writing out everything that you want to accomplish in that time frame.

Some of your short term goals should focus on the kind of money you plan to make within a particular time frame and what kind of marketing best supports that financial goal. Long-term goals should focus on the longevity of time you plan to spend in working your business and continued financial profit.

Would you like to quit your job? Write down the exact date on the calendar when you want that to happen and look at it every day. As that date gets closer and closer it will drive you to work harder and be more persistent and that will push your business over the top!

We all have things that we want to do with our lives but as life goes on we slowly push them to the back burner and eventually they’re gone all together. More often than now we tend to put our dreams on hold to accomodate major life changes; marriage, family, job changes and physical health.

However, these very life changes such as those mentioned above should serve as a catalyst to initiate a career change in our lives through a Home-Based Business; thus making it easier to focus on marriage, family and health.

After you have written all of your goals out it is often helpful to give yourself something more visual to look at every day. Look online and find pictures that represent the things that you want and the goals you want to accomplish.

Find a picture of your dream house or take a picture of your family on vacation… whatever motivates you and put those images somewhere were you can see them every day like a refrigerator, by your desk or on your bathroom mirror. The location doesn’t matter as long as it’s a place you will be sure to see it every day.

This might seem silly but trust me it will be the thing that keeps you going and keeps you motivated when nothing else will.

By doing all of these things you will have a clear view of what your goals are in your home based business and knowing WHAT you’re doing is nowhere near as important as knowing WHY you’re doing it

What is Marketing?

Saturday, December 6th, 2008

I do not want to disappoint you, but I tell you from the very beginning

MARKETING IS NOT TACTICS

When most people think of marketing, they think of marketing tactics. People associate marketing with tactics, partly because they’re fun. Advertising is fun, promotions are fun, and so is sending out email campaigns and every other similar tactic. But tactics, while the most salient aspects of marketing, are similar to the tactics of sport. They’re very important, but useless without having a sound basis of knowledge.

And so it is with marketing. Marketing is far more than tactics. Marketing is analysis, and a sound marketing strategy is based on this analysis. [ read more ]

3 Effective Strategies for Home Business Success

Tuesday, November 11th, 2008

1. MAKE A GOOD CHOICE OF YOUR PRODUCT

Your product is very important, therefore the way you choose it is more important. If you have problems coming up with a product, think about your own background and experience. You must be able to explain a lot of things regarding your product, so you need adequate knowledge. The online product promotion requires a high level of expertise. You need to raise your product profile, and that of the business, by regularly emailing to your customers, writing articles, reports, ebooks and so on.

When choosing a product don’t forget to take a look around you to see if some people from your neighborhood are using or interested in such kind of product. If they are, you may expect to have a market demand and may hope that your product is a good selling one. [ read full article ]
