The term allergy is used to describe a response, within the body, to a substance, which is not necessarily harmful in itself, but results in an immune response and a reaction that causes symptoms and disease in a predisposed person, which in turn can cause inconvenience, or a great deal of misery.
Allergy is extremely widespread and affects approximately one in four of the population at some time in their life. Each year the numbers are increasing by 5% with as many as half of all sufferers being children.

Hayfever/Rhinitis(Allergies)

Hayfever affects million people every year, and the statistics are growing; an allergy to mould spores from trees and various pollens are the usual causes.
However, in the case of Rhinitis, it still has the symptoms of Hayfever but is an all-year condition, aggravated by a food allergy and can be irritated by anything: cigarette smoke, other smells; or by feathers, fur, dust mites etc. Closely related to both Hayfever and Rhinitis are the symptoms of Asthma and Eczema.
Conventional medicine, although helpful, can cause severe side effects. And if you have been suffering from it for a number of years, you have the right to ask your Doctor to refer you to a Qualified Homeopath.
The following remedies are appropriate for the symptoms listed, and I cannot stress strongly enough the importance that you pick a remedy that matches your symptoms precisely, or as closely as possible; and should your symptoms change, then so should the remedy. One other thing you should bear in mind: there is no overnight miracle for the cure of Hayfever. However, adopting a Homeopathic solution can make the condition better within one to three years and, within time, should clear up completely.

• Take ALLEGRA a seasonal allergy medicine that your doctor can prescribe if it is right for you. Allegra active ingredient fexofendine - leaves you without the drowsiness which can be caused by many antihistamines. Studies show drowsiness in people who took Allegra was similar to those who took a sugar pill placebo.
• Take CLARITIN the brand name of loratadine, a non-sedating antihistamine made and marketed by Schering Canada Inc. As an antihistamine, Claritin works by blocking the action of histamine, a naturally occurring chemical that is responsible for allergy symptoms. Claritin won't cause drowsiness, unlike some other over-the-counter antihistamines.
• Take FLONASE. In independent studios, Flonase was indicated to treat more symptoms than any other leading nasal allergy medication. For the best results, Flonase must be used daily. Your symptoms may begin to improve in as few as 12 hours. Maximum relief may take several days. Results may vary. If side effects occur, they are generally mild and may include headache, nosebleed, or sore throat.
• Take NASONEX the only prescription nasal allergy spray approved for the treatment of seasonal and perennial nasal allergy symptoms in children 2 years of age and older. Taken just once a day, Nasonex helps relieve an itchy, runny nose, sneezing, and congestion. • Take MECLIZINE. Meclizine is an antihistamine.
