5 Questions for an Effective Marketing Plan
You cannot make a substantial amount of money without working
hard. You cannot have a profitable online business without the help
of many white nights. You need work, good luck and inspiration,
but is a fact you cannot get adequate results without having a plan.
A good plan, this is the most important thing you need, because
the key to the success of any venture is to market your product effectively.
How to succeed in drawing a good plan ?
Never easier. If you want to have an effective marketing plan you
need a piece of paper, a pencil.and the willingness to answer to a
certain number of questions. Use all your creative imagination by
thinking of new ideas of how to market your particular products.
1. What is your goal ?
This is the basic question, because the answer will influence the flow
of your plan. The approach to marketing will depend if you want to
boost sales on an old product or you want to introduce a new one.
2. Who is your target audience?
Is in your intention to address your campaign to everyone or you are
aiming a particular group ? If you have a new product try to decide
if you will involve your old customers or not.
3. What are the main points you will focus your campaign ?
Think what are the benefits of your product, service, etc., that you
are marketing. Think what will your prospect gain from accepting
whatever offer you have. Make a list of benefits, as log as you can.
On the other way try to see why people should trust your product
and buy it. They should have some reasons to do that. What might
they be ? Very often, people buy things they want from people they
know, like and trust. Do you think it is necessary to promote your
expertise ?
4. What are the ways you can promote this campaign ?
Make another long list because this is a very important question to
answer. Try to consider ezines, FFAs, safelists, banners, links,
articles, newsgroups, message boards, search engines, reports, mail,
postcards, press releases, fliers, radio, TV. Are you thinking to use
free or paid advertising ?
5. What is your budget?
You may have a zero budget but you can afford a big amount as well.
Answering this question you will know if you must do all the work on
your own or you can hire an expert. Once you will have this answer
you must evaluate the previous 4 steps accordingly.
If you can answer that questions clearly, then you have an effective
marketing plan. It might be useful to involve other people to answer
the above questions.
