As an online marketer have you ever wandered what works and what doesn't work for you?

I think that the best way to explain is to list three examples.

1. Use ezines, groups, forums.
This point is related to pure advertising. Make a research and find ezines, groups and forums with topics close related to your product or service. You will find this way people very interested in what you sell. Advertise here because you have a higher hope to close a sale than every other place.

2. Use an autoresponder.
Let's say you sell natural pharmaceutical products. Write a report "Reinforce your body health with .... " and explain how people may combat all matter of diseases using natural products. Put this report on an autoresponder and distribute it for free. You will know for sure that people requesting this report are very interested in natural therapy. Then, email back from time to time with your offer. (Take care to respect non spam regulations).

3. Do a search engine optimization of your website.
This is a good example why my concept is larger than pure advertising. When somebody uses search engines that means he is looking for something he is interested in. If he uses a query like "natural products for migraine treatment" he surely wants to find and buy this kind of product. In fact, statistics say that 65% of first sales are made through search engines.

What you have to do ? Make a list with keywords related to your business and products and do optimize your site accordingly. Then you must be sure that the visitors that come to your site because of these queries will be interested in purchasing what you have in your site offer.

I hope my examples have shown you the meaning of may concept regarding 'using target audience'. Marketing a business is like any game. If you know the rules you are much more likely to win.
